Objectives

 

The aim of Department of Oral Hygiene is to educate the clinical professional person who has ability to assist dental treatment, to take oral healthcare and protection, as well as to make oral health education. World Health Organization (WHO) not only make prevention in some oral diseases like Dental Caries, Periodontosis and Oral Cancer as the important medical direction, but also emphasize the extensive value of oral hygiene in public health and life quality.

 

Characteristics

Our core PURPOSE is to improve and promote lives through oral healthcare.

The characteristics and missions of Department of Oral Hygiene are:

1.     To train our students to be excellent oral professionals.

2.     To deliver quality specialist oral healthcare to every patient through comprehensive and integrated clinical practices.

3.     To conduct high impact clinical and lecture teaching to transform oral healthcare and improve clinical outcomes.

4.     To educate and nurture the next generation of oral healthcare professionals, and promote lifelong learning for our students.

5.     To explore the oral and dental knowledge to whole people.

6.     To prepare researchers in oral and dental medicine and strengthen the energy in medical study.

7.     To grow directors in dental care industry marketing and management.

 

Future Possibility

 

1. Further Education: Study in graduate schools of oral health education and related disciplines in Taiwan and overseas.

2. Career Opportunities:

(1) Clinical Dental Hygienists: Jobs in dental clinic and hospitals.

(2) Sales and Administrative Management: jobs in medical device, dental industry market, biomaterials and application, public health administrative, oral health industry, etc.

(3) Academic Research: Participation and assist in the completion of oral hygiene, medical and health research projects in academic or government institutes, or private organizations.

(4) Teaching: Jobs in Elementary and Junior High Schools can be obtained after the completion of education program and acquisition of teaching credential. Jobs in universities can be obtained after graduate education.

(5) Public Health Promotion: Jobs in private non-profit organizations which promote public oral health affairs, aborigine populations, etc.

(6) Community and Long-Term Oral Healthcare: The evaluation of oral diseases for long-term care patients or residents.
